I have this book on my phone that is 100 Wiccan and Pagan Writing Prompts and Inspirations, and I thought why not try some of these out on everyone. Soooo, here we go.

Prompt #6: Search through books or photographs of scenery. When you find one that interests you, ask yourself what happened here long ago? Write a description of the scenery.

My home in my heart is Scotland…my ancestors are from Scotland and, well, all over the UK — but my heart belongs to Scotland. So, naturally, I looked up pictures of Scotland and found these two. One of a castle and the other an unassuming bridge over a river. The castle is: The ruins of Kilchurn castle on Loch Awe, and the bridge is: a bridge on the Isle of Skye near Sligachan. So, tell me what you see when you look at these pictures.

Picture #1: When I look at the castle, I wonder about the people who used to live there back in the day. You know when the clans were at their height and warring with each other. Could this family/ clan have been one that was an ally to my family, or were they an enemy? I could research it and find out I am sure, and at some point for sheer curiosity I may do that, but for now I will pretend.

Kilchurn castle is located in the highlands of Scotland and my family came from the Highlands, I want to believe they would be an ally to my family. They fought side by side with each other during the clan wars and during the wars for Scotland’s independence. The family was a brave and proud Highland clan, and they fought for the right to a better life.

The inside of the castle was dark, dimly lit by candles and torches. The hallways were drafty and cold, but they were dressed with beautiful tapestries and paintings. I can picture a young girl walking and playing in the halls of the castle as she grew up. She was a strong and independent girl, always wanting to be out with the boys fighting and learning what she needed to know so that she could one day go into battle for her country. She did not care about the societal norms, she knew what she wanted, and she would stop at nothing to have that. The castle holds her story within it’s stony walls.

Picture #2: When I look at the bridge, I wonder what people have crossed it…but my first thought has there been any battles that took place there? Did blood stain the stones red? Did the water turn crimson with the blood of men fighting for what was theirs or for their rights to freedom against the English? What happened here? If I look at the picture and close my eyes, I can hear the hoof falls of the heavy battle horses as they crossed the bridge. I can hear the shouts and battle cries that carried across the wind. I can see myself looking over the edge of the bridge at the water and the crimson blood that stained the water from the men who had fallen in battle. The clang of the swords. The groan of men as they wield these swords, holding tight to them with both hands.

Tell me, what do you see when you look at these pictures?

I know I have been neglecting my blog for far too long, and I am sorry for that. I hope all of you that are following this blog can forgive me.

Now that the apology is out of the way, I want to say this. I know this has always been a writing blog, but I am going to be making a few changes so that I can add some other things to it as well. I want to make this more inclusive to share other things that I love with my audience. Not only that, but I also hope to grow my audience and make it bigger.

That being said, I will probably have my sister on here as well posting; that or I will be posting things that she writes as well to share with you all [I will let you know if I post something for my sister]. We will post about my writing [still], tips and tricks to make your writing better, graphics, recipes/ cooking, my sister’s knitting and our being witches [and things of that nature] and of course our beloved cats. My sister travels a lot as well, so I am sure, she will probably be posting about that as well. We just want to share with you the things in life that we love.

Stories

Posted: April 6, 2014 in Uncategorized

I just wanted to write a little note about the stories that I have up in the pages section of the blog. There are four and none of them are complete yet and one I haven’t even started yet. So be patient I will post to each as I feel the muses draw me to the stories. I hope you all enjoy the stories.

A slight change for the better I think can be a great thing. In this case I hope it is. I used to write my stories on other blogs and post them — but it is becoming too time consuming to manage all the blogs so I have the stories on their own pages on this blog. I hope that all my followers will enjoy the stories and I will post here when I add a chapter to each of the stories. I will also continue to post tips, tricks and other useful things I come across on the web for writing on the main blog.

I hope you all enjoy. :)

My name is Kellye Jaine MacNamara, I hate my middle name. As for the other facts I was born January 3rd, 1989, so that makes me 22. I have not ascended yet but the women in my family never ascend until they are between 24 and 25 years old. The males on the other hand ascend when they are quite young at the age of 21. But whatever, I just got fated to be born a girl so I have to wait. I do have some powers though. I have power over animals and that can be pretty interesting at times.I have recently broken up with my long time boyfriend Roman Gallagher, or rather he broke up with me. For a long time I hated my life…and I did a lot of things to try and destroy it — and now I find that I am pregnant with Taylor Jacob’s baby….and I am partially responsible for what happened to Camden Gallagher…

Cormick and Kenna O’Laughlin are going to adopt my baby with Cait Quinn being godmother…and I am trying to rebuild my life and relationships with people that I once considered my friends…

I also have younger sister that I was once very close to, her name is Carys. I want to get in touch with her again and try and help her get away from our parents…help her have a life.

I have recently run into someone that I hadn’t expected to see again for a while…and have found that there just might be something between us: Cayden Gallagher. I was in love with Cayden even when I was with Roman but never said anything I hope that we can make a go of this because I want it more than I’ve wanted anything in my life.
